Nomine has new mesh suits for sale. When I took my animus here to check them out, my cursor paused over the black one, and then the red one, and then I thought: AM I A MAN OR A FAKE MAN IN SL? And so I bought the violet one. I’m wearing it with a great violet skin from Plastik, the Averian Elven – Wisteria skin. I’m pimpin’ enough for any old urban decay.

So yeah, I’m challenging myself to blog as my boy avatar all month. Just so you know, boy-Acha is a queer Elf and his boy parts totally match his skin color. He abides by the life rules that his old friend Catero told him once, via Dr. Seuss: “Be who you are and feel what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” He’ll be back.

Brains brains brains… It’s tough to remember where I put them after a day of chemotherapy, but luckily Acha’s Animus (boy soul, Jungian term) seems to have ‘em for me. He’s in my newest acquisition from Lassitude & Ennui (for the challenge). OK, Jackal might have handed me something even newer, but (to tease you) I can’t blog it until next week. These boots totally suit my Animus’ incarnation as a Deer-shifter. Right? “Come. Run with me and my reindeer this Christmas.” Lol.

hyasynth Tiramisu of ~silentsparrow~ in L&E’s Thecla boots

My oldest friend in Second Life is hyasynth Tiramisu, and she was kind enough to model one of her oldest pairs of Lassitude & Ennui shoes for the Seven years of Lassitude & Ennui challenge. Actually… hyasynth originally put on shoes that came in two parts, but the prims never un-chunked for me, poor old shoes! So we settled on the Thecla boots, which are not all that old (a few years?), and still very beautiful.

My own oldest pair of L&E shoes are probably a little pair of Victorian heels that I got during my year of living in Caledon. Jackal lived there too, and I met her for the first time at a small concert that someone threw. I fangirled all over her, and she handed me a pair of sculpted flats (the Chloe flats), her first sculpties. “You seem to really have a purpose in SL,” I told her with great envy. “I don’t have that purpose yet!” Then Jackal disappeared into WoW for a year, and I slowly began to blog more and more, setting myself the goal of one blog post a day on my modest little blog (www.achariya.net) so that my blogging skills would improve.» View author and full post…

Saiyge Lotus of Balderdash in L&E’s Wanderlust boots

Tonight I thought about my favorite boots by Lassitude & Ennui. They are the Wanderlust boots, and they come hand in hand with my favorite people and activities in Second Life. What I’ve always loved most about blogging was not taking pictures of myself, but instead collaborating with other people. I decided that for the “my favorite item” part of the Seven years of Lassitude & Ennui challenge, I’d do my favorite thing — photograph someone else. I love the Wanderlust boots because of the shape and construction. They look like a pair of boots that can kick some ass while being perfectly in place at a Babbage banquet, elegantly flexible!

The avatar that I felt perfectly embodies the Wanderlust boots is Saiyge Lotus. There’s something rakishly fey about her avatar and all of her creations that puts me in mind of far journeyings in magical realms. Could it be the vardos, or the rest of her creations? Or perhaps her personal style, a fine magical realist mix of contemporary and fairy? Maybe all of it. Today while pondering that a few thousand people were trying to get into an area that can comfortably fit 32, I decided to put on my Petite avatar again. I love the one by Mynerva (so happy that I can change the skin any odd color that I want), and soon I was off hunting Petite stuff. I was so happy to find that Balderdash has a line of headpieces for Petites! Wasabi Pills hair, too. And *fingersnap* used up all my Gatcha moneys!

While I stood around this morning hitting the “teleport” button for the Arcade, I put on Katat0nik’s Bowie dress. It’s so very pretty! I do love how it’s amazingly hard to break the line of mesh. The only poses that made the skirt distort were ones that basically did the splits. Hope you enjoy your first weekend of December! And nope, I haven’t gotten into the Arcade yet…

Miss Cajsa was kind enough to talk me through using her Status Dual Projector Box 1.0, and indeed, using projectors is fun! The basic box comes with a few very easy-to-blog-with poses, and editing the texture into the light is very easy. I’m still fiddling with my day setting (I think I used one that washed me out a bit here), but it’s nothing but fun!

Once again my avatar is having a much better November than I’ve had, but I took a nice long break from reality tonight and spent time dressing for the season. I headed straight to Saiyge Lotus’s sim and was happily unsurprised to find it covered in ice. Yay! The only thing new about my outfit are the amazing boots from Schadenfreude. The great vest is no longer 50L, but it’s from So Many Styles, and I’ve layered it over a lovely vest in a similar color from ~silentsparrow~. I hope you all have a lovely beginning of Yule!

My corset is a cage and my boots are embroidered with beautiful skulls. I’m feeling a surge of thanks for Second Life, because it always provides me a place to hide away and create something. Creation is blood, and having this avenue of creation open to me no matter where I am or how my body feels is a wonderful thing. Happy (US) Thanksgiving. I’m off to celebrate tomorrow in true joy for being where I am, in the 21st century, in this world, in this Second life. (O hey, Cajsa is wearing this neat caged corset from Plastik too!)
