Don’t you just love those Saturdays when you have nothing that has to be done and you can just lay around and do what ever you want.  That’s exactly what I did at my SL home today. I slipped on these great shorts from M.o.w, top from Blueberry and finished with hair from Sadistic Hacker. I found a good book and relaxed reading in the backyard.

I wasn’t around the grid much today but I did want to tell everyone about a few events going on Sunday, May 18.

Sonix, Marky Helstein’s First Life band will be playing at MadPeas tomorrow for Feed a Smile. Streaming live from Ayrshire, Scotland the band will do a 2 hour set, covering a wide variety of music from the 50′s, 60′s & 70′s through to modern rock and pop. Tp over to Mad Peas 2pm slt  for an awesome 2 hours of music and instead of tipping the band buy some meals for Feed a Smile.            Sonix Website

Today my bestie Owl and I hung out at the GarageDesigner Fair 2013, spending more Linden than we planned too!  There are a lot of great items to be bought and many stores have a freebie box for 0 or 1L. The sim is well designed and easy to manover and runs from from May 15 to May 29, 2013.

This evening I had the pleasure of hearing two performers I’ve not blogged before. I was invited to a house warming for my friends Jinx and FT. They have a very pretty SL home and had two very good performers for their guests pleasure.  I do have to mention though, they ran out of crabs puffs… just saying.

The evening first performance was by SaraMarie Philly “Pop music Singer/Songwriter from Philadephia, PA”. Seated at a piano she sang away the hour with song after song in her beautful voice. Sara is defintely one to see again.  You can hear her yourself at Vegas Nights Lounge 1/05  7pm slt. Check out the marvelous dress and boots in my picture. The dress by LouLou and boots by Red Mint both come with a colour change hud that allow you to make numerous different texture and colour changes. This lovely blonde hair from Milana is just perfect for my summery look.

I was wandering around the grid and came upon this great little cafe. The Sweet Beans Cafe is located on a very pretty sim that has been set up as a meeting area for friends. The owners encourage people to come over and enjoy the facilites.  Have a virtual cup of coffee with your pals, do lunch, play greedy, use the pinball machine or sit around the fireplace and chill. There are all kinds of fun things here for public use. I took advantage of the telescope to check out the interesting looking ruins on an off sim island across from the cafe. If your looking for a nice meeting spot check out the Sweet Beans Cafe.

Today I spend an hour at Guthries one of my favourite venues in SL. Picker Apogee was on stage getting ready to do what he loves and that is pick. “Picker discovered country blues, ragtime, and fingerstyle guitar and has been hooked ever since.» View author and full post…

Doesn’t this cute dress, hair and shoes from D&G  make you feel all retro?  It certainly did and I’m loving this look. It made me want to go out and listen to good music and dance.

This week The Cavern owned by Carmen Cardone celebrates it’s 1 year anniversary in SL. ”The original Cavern Club was opened in 1957 in Liverpool inspired by the Jazz district in Paris where there are a number of clubs in cellars like the Cavern is.  The Beatles first played there on the 9th of February 1961″  A huge Beatles fan herself Carmon has managed to replicate the Cavern and make it into a great place for good music in SL.  Here’s a good  blog about Carmen’s Cavern with some great pictures.

I stopped by this evening and heard Bronze8020 “genres of music include anything from Classic Rock to Country to Folk to Blues to Irish ditties and much more. You will hear songs from The Beatles, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Bee Gee’s, Don Mclean, Elton John and his songlist rocks on.” doing what he does best on The Cavern’s stage and that is sing his brand of classic rock along with a few folk, country, blues or whatever the audience might like.» View author and full post…

The new Egoisme sim is finally open and what a breathtaking build it is. The brand has always been known for their realistic avatars and high quality couture clothing, however, they have outdone themselves with their new  build.The new sim is influenced by the art nouveau beauty of the real life Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping mall in Milan, Italy, this new build is one of the most majestic shopping malls ever created in Second Life.

Today some friends and I attended the Relay for Life Event on the beautiful Titanic in our gorgeous dresses from Allure and Zed. Our well coffed hair and jewels and we were the belles of the ball.  Five hours of wonderful dance music by five awesome performers and surrounded by scores of well dressed avatars all gathered to help raise funds for Cancer Research. Dilah Halostar, Sorvea Perdide, Jacqueline Luik,  Antonio Galloway and  JPeabody Resident all very talented singers graced the Titanic s stage. If your a fan of ballads and great couples dance music I suggest you check out each of these performers.

Each hour during the event, there was a prize given for best dressed and I was very surprised to be one of the winners in my great Zed dress. Yes, I have blogged this dress before but it really is one of my favourites.  In my prize package I received a dress from Azul, Smooth Designs Diamond Heart v6 jewelry and a 1000L gift certificate from Avant Garde. Thank you to the designers who gave all the event gifts. At the end of the evening the total on the RFL of SL 2013 Official Kiosk was in excess of 2,000,000.» View author and full post…

This big boy is Eric, Sparklye’s SYSP (Structure your skin project) for the month of May.  He’s a big boy but rather handsome don’t you think?  Eric comes with his shape and today is dressed all in  360′s men’s line of Biker clothes. This is Sparklye’s only skin available at the moment while the new line is being developed. Keep reading for news of their of skins coming soon  which I’m sure will be  worth the wait.

Owl Dragonash’s Photography Opening at  Commune Utopia was a huge success and very well attended. Beautiful pictures in a lovely setting and fun friendly people. I have to admit I did get a bit heady from the virtual champagne but I did enjoy myself.  Owl’s picture will be there for the rest of the month so stop by and have a look, and meet the friendly group at the Commune.

Friday May 10th is the date for the Titanic Relay for Life Event. Not only is there fabulous music from 2-6 slt aboard the ship but they are offering a wonderful package containing a major designer’s gown, a major designer’s jewelry, and an awesome gift card able to be used for anything from housewares to clothing.» View author and full post…

Dressed in this really cool dress from Sugar & Cyanide, boots from Zed and yet another Truth hair I went to a place called Dreams yesterday. This is a project by Pho Vinternatt which contains an interview and photo exhibition. Placed in a long stark white hall you will meet 15 people with very different dreams. “Our dreams expose us, and opens our wounds and vulnerabilities. We choose our words very carefully when we do speak of them, because they’re frail and precious to us.”  The dreams are quiet interesting to read and as you can see in my picture it prompted me to start writing down my own.  Take a trip to Dreams today I guarantee you’ll enjoy it.

This time of year Jon’s shows are few so of  I always grab a chance to hear him streaming live. Jon’s unique style and one of a kind voice makes each acoustic cover sound like an original. His originals (when he can be coaxed to play one) are thought provoking and sung from deep inside. Just a quick blog tonight to let you know about a few events and to show off this great outfit from Zed that works perfect with this Truth hair.  I was rather busy today and didnt make it around the grid  much. I bet I missed lots of good music.  With the warmer weather and visitors coming I’m not in SL as much.

About the belt by JJ in my picture, the plain version is available only at the Neva Heartsick Fundrasing Event for Amesha Jewell,the creator of Aeva/Heartsick. Her friends and some fellow designers have gotten together to donate time and items in hopes of raising some funds to help her with the purchase of a new computor as her’s has died. Ameha’s SL designs are her source of RL income. Many creators are offering items for sale, with most or all of the proceeds going to benefit Amesha. Also, if you teleport to Amesha’s main store, there is a donation box, where you can donate directly to Amesha´s cause.  Find the Fundraiser here.

New week and new things, like this Allure VIP Group dress and boots I wore to this intriguing new sim (new to me) I found. Tossed my lovely blonde Truth locks and entered Torell Nederland, a sim devoted to arts and culture. The brainchild of Janfolkert Alter and Ellenilli Lavendel. Along with many of SL’s talented builders they have put together a multilayer sim  of a Van Gogh village, made as 3D replications of Van Gogh Paintings, a modern Bauhaus style gallery with poetry, sculptures, paintings and photography. There is something there for everyone and so many  inspirational places to take pictures.  This is a real treat not to be missed. My picture is taken in The Tower build, a very intriguing place so make sure you check it out. Here is your taxi to Torell Nederland.

This evening I made my way around the grid and saw several performers for the first time starting at Smokin’ Ace’s for Gold (goldtalon).”Gold has been enjoying entertaining folks for well over a year now singing at many country and rock venues such as Roadhouse Dreams, Kickin Club, PureLife Lodge and J HonkyTonk to name just a few.”  A fellow Canadian with a love for New Country and Classic Rock, which shows as he puts his all into his covers of well known songs.  Always up for a requests and never disappoints as he has a huge song list.  If your up for a high engery hour of music check out Gold at Flashdance Beach  /08/05 4pm slt.» View author and full post…
