We Will Rock You!

My recent posts have had a few items from the Men Only Hunt 3, but here is a whole lot more featuring three dudes who just love to rock. There are lots of great gifts in this hunt – the theme is Rock n Roll this time – and hunters will find pretty much everything they need to create that rock look, whatever their preferred era. Great shapes (I’m showing three here, but there are many more), skins, clothing… I had mentioned that the hunt would be epic – well it truly is. Crank the tunes, stock up on the beverages and do the whole hunt – you’ll be glad you did.

Bungalow Pt. 2

Since it’s hard to let go of that California style, here are a few more shots in and around L&K Prefab‘s Blue Bungalow from the April edition of the Challenge (see Pt.1 for more). Sun, surf, wine and outdoor showers seem mighty appealing after an endless Winter and now cold, dreary Spring in my neck of the woods.

A new round of the Challenge has actually just gotten underway – the theme this month is “underwater” and once again there are some interesting items from a wider range of participants that I’ll be showing later this month.

All clothing in the post is from two current hunts: Men Only Hunt 3 and the You’ve Been Tangoed Hunt. For the guys, Men Only Hunt is not to be missed. Missqwerty and the Flair for Events team have brought a great selection of designers to the third edition of MOH and the theme this time is Rock n Roll. Check the website for the finalized store list and hints (not up yet but should be imminent).

Vegas Style

A few looks today mostly from Menswear Fashion Week, with a little Fantasy Faire thrown in for good measure. MWFW brings together a large number of designers focused on menswear with fashion shows and new releases for the event (ends Apr 27). The theme is Las Vegas this year, which means casual, stylish clothing with a rakish twist – like with SF Design‘s new Lounge Lizard jacket, which has a texture change hud with six cool motifs (sale price of just 100l for the duration of the event). I also quite like American Bazaar‘s open shirt/tee combination, available in various colors and with different tee options. It looks great with BeUp!’s new jeans and you’ll feel like money wearing it.

Las Vegas is all about fantasy and 22769/Bauwerk‘s Royal Room skybox from Fantasy Faire would fit right in there. It’s Mesh with marble texturing and has a master suite & main living area suitable for high rollers. You can check out 22769′s numerous fashion releases for Fantasy Faire through the 28th.

My Windmill

My friend Shali Manx is one of the biggest Scarlet Creative fans on the grid. When she heard that Scarlet Creative was putting a windmill into Collabor88 at a discounted price she couldn’t wait to buy it and start decorating with some of her favorite objects. This is the result and I think she did a fabulous job, both with the decorating and the photos, many of which are by her. I especially love how she has integrated the windmill into the rugged setting of her land, standing watch on a hill overlooking  the water down below.

The windmill is mesh (land impact 106 prims), fully mod and fits on a small lot. There are two main living areas at ground level and an upper room in the tower with access via a wooden ladder, which Shali has fitted out here as a bathroom. The build would function well as a guest home or even as an architectural feature in the landscape. A scale model can be seen at Collabor88 (not sure if a full-sized demo is available) where the windmill is on sale at 488l until the end of the month (more pictures can be seen on Scarlet Creative’s website» View author and full post…).

California Bungalow

The Challenge is a monthly event organized by Bauwerk and L&K Prefabs where participating builders have to create an object to fit a randomly generated theme. The second round theme this month is California Bungalow – not the most exotic, but there are some nice items from the participants that should appeal to many (previews can be seen on the website).

The fashion here features a hunt gift from American Bazaar, an excellent free male shape found on MP, new release jeans from KlubWerK (check out the store for a whole bunch of group gifts) and more from Mens Dept. Also note that some of the furniture blogged below is from the Cookie Jar Spring Festival Hunt, which ends this weekend.

The second round theme this month is California Bungalow – maybe not the most exotic, but there are some nice items from the participants that should appeal to many (previews can be seen on the website).

The event also challenges bloggers to highlight a different theme every month and it was fun decorating L&K’s entry, the Blue Bungalow, in an attempt to reflect the California Bungalow spirit. I’ll show more decor items with this build in a later post (as well as the two excellent avis), but note that some of the furniture blogged below is from the Cookie Jar Spring Festival Hunt, which ends in a few days.

The fashion features some great casual items from American Bazaar (including one hunt gift), new release jeans from KlubWerK, more from Mens Dept and BSD Design Studio‘s cute shoes/bag combination from Kawaii Fair

Forgotten Angel

I wanted to feature the new wings/poses from HISPose, one of the best makers specialized in props/poses for men (or angels), and Forgotten City seemed like the right place for that.  What would an angel do in a forgotten city, built over centuries and then abandoned?

The wings are color change and there are actually 6 poses in the set at the very reasonable price of just 100l. The A:S:S kilt & belt is an Avenue Magazine Readers gift found at Zenshi, and the pants are one of the gifts from (Red)Sand for the Hollywood event. If you haven’t been to Hollywood go there before it ends on the 14th – you will be opening “swagbags” from all the participants for days.

Where is my place?

Angel Forgotten

I rarely have time to explore SL’s great Sim designs, but Forgotten City, with its monumental structures, strange machines and misty cobblestone streets, set amidst the ruins of an earlier metropolis, is one that will fire your imagination. You wouldn’t be surprised in a place like this if angels surveyed the streets, forgotten in time and place like the city they inhabit. Bring your camera when you go…

The wings & first three poses shown are a new release from HISPose, one of the best makers specialized in props/poses for men (or angels). The wings are color change and there are actually 6 poses in the set at the very reasonable price of just 100l. The avi is a new Ginger version of (Red)Sand‘s Huntsmen skin, that I previously blogged here. There are some gifts shown as well (grab them while you have the chance) and some items from the latest Mens Dept round (ends April 30), as well as cool new boots from Energie that will be released for MensWear Fashion Week on April 19.

Screen Scenes

Kusshon‘s It’s a Man’s World Screen, available at Mens Dept through today (after in store), makes a nice vintage decor item and was fun to use as a backdrop for some retro style photos. My friend Sidney Bluestar of Sup Poses got inspired and made some pin-up type poses to go with the screen, now available for sale in her store with a prop of her design.

Lots of events ending today or this weekend such as Mens Dept, The Arcade, Skin Fair, Whore Couture and various hunts. For the women, note the excellent shape from PixyStix, which is a hunt gift available through today.  Also go visit new hair store Due, where you will find a fatpack of the mesh “Lily” hair completely free.

    Dream Boss

A short post for you guys today with some gifts you can go grab. The cool T-shirt is from JLB and is a gift for Avenue Magazine Readers (copy this into your viewer to join: secondlife:///app/group/c3e0ee4b-7058-3c9b-bb98-f0f2043d71fe/about). The couch (which I previously blogged here) from End of Daze is now a gift down at the Energy Club, where you can find a ton of good gifts for men & women to mark the club’s 3rd anniversary.

The skin here is a recent group gift from LaVie (unfortunately no longer available). However, LaVie has just announced a Sim-wide Easter egg hunt with gifts from the top designers present on their new  urban style shopping area. I haven’t had time to do the hunt, but I’m told there are skin gifts for men & women, hair, N-Core shoes etc, although all the gifts may not be out yet. Nice to see LaVie back and bustling – see the pic below for the stores in this hunt.

Update: LaVie Sim is temporarily closed, while they set up the gifts. Sim now reopened.
