Get Your Goth On in Gothika!
Today is World Goth Day! This means that Club Gothika in World Goth Fair will be having a party of fourteen hours. Yes, fourteen. Seven DJs, seven different gothic themes, ridiculous amount of prizes with the winner takes it all principle and all around gothic entertainment.
I’ll be hosting the Best in Vampire party at 2-4pm SLT for DJ Acerose Razor and decided I liked my hostess look so much that I’d blog it. The ruins behind me are where the party will occur, right in the middle of the WGF Cursed. The first shift starts at 10am SLT and the party eventually stops fourteen hours later at midnight SLT. So, it dawned on me a few days ago that my blog must be nearly One.Whole.Year old. I was wrong. It’s already past that milestone! I wrote my first post on May 3, 2012! I can’t believe it’s already been a year. I’ll be honest. When I started this project, I really didn’t expect to last more than a couple of months. I figured I’d get bored. On the contrary, I love it far, far more than I could ever have imagined. I get to be creative in ways that were never really options for me before SL, and I really just enjoy it so much!
I’m not the only one celebrating… FaMESHed just marked its first birthday, too! I was about as shocked by that as I was to realize my blog had turned one! It’s like the year just blew past us. I guess it’s true what they say about time and having fun!
So, to celebrate these occasions, I donned some of the awesome items available at FaMESHed’s birthday round. Definitely check it out before it ends… there’s so much awesome to be had! Twisted Color Challenge: Week 20 – Simply Cider
Simply Cider is a fun Twisted Color combination. I actually had the outfit set up, but ended up spending most of Saturday in a meeting and then the rest of the night as an awesome alpaca dancing in a row. One of the things I continue to love about Second Life is how untethered we are with out appearance – how in a moment’s notice I can become something entirely transformed. Evens light changes can be unnerving, like adding these new eyes from Rue in, giving me dark, catlike eyes. She has a whole slew of releases, all of them the eyeballs which means that you can mix and match, but I stuck with a single set – the closest to rainbow. Aren’t they gorgeous? Along with unnerving – the inclusion of black instead of the usual white really catches me off guard, looking at myself. I’m used to a much more innocent, less alien Deoridhe. My hair is from Wasabi Pills, a short, almost birdlike affair which adds to the disquiet; I think of myself as having long hair, so whenever I don a short hairstyle it’s always an enormous change. World Goth Fair 2
Sn@tch & Nuuna’s Skins @ World Goth Fair
Today I’m focusing on two brands for this particular post. The first is the lovely skin by +Nuuna’s Skins+ and the other is the lovely partial mesh outfit from Sn@tch. Nuuna is known for her beautiful makeup tattoos and recently her skins have been garnering much needed acclaim. Nuuna has always been super talented. Even before she opened her store I loved her blog and the looks she created with each post. When she came out with a store, I bought a few things. But I always know if I want uniquely beautiful makeup I can go to her store. The skin I purchased at World Goth Fair during Blogger Preview Day was the exclusive version and it was pretty affordable at 300L. As for Sn@tch I think I have sang my praises of Ivey many of times on this blog. The outfit she has set out as a exclusive item is available in a gajillion colors as always.
Up first I’m going to give you a close-up of the corset and the wonderful skin. I am wearing another pair of eyes from RUE called princess. And I accented my outfit with accessories from Bliensen + MaiTai.
