Sunsets and Seashells
I can’t wait for real life work to be done. Tonight is another “girls night out.” I can have them any time I want, but my friends, being married, some even with a rugrat or two, the orchestrating becomes a bit more complex. We basically sit there hunched over our Iphones, crackberry’s or androids pecking away at our calendars until we find one night that is empty for us all. I love girls night out, it always reminds me of our carefree college days but more importantly, it reminds me I need to stop every once in a while and treasure the many gifts I’ve been given. The wonderful friends and their growing families, the state I live in, my job, all the beauty that surrounds me, and my education. I do think college is a gift, not all are lucky enough to be able to go but I believe education is the greatest gift of all. I know, how does that make sense, right? We all have the ability to expand our knowledge, to study, to learn from others, opportunity is all around us, everywhere we look. All we have to do is listen, ask, share. I plan to be a life long learner.» View author and full post…
Rolling Over
Ah well, I don’t know how it got here, but here it got…. Again. Date night for the basically undate-able. I don’t know why I act this way. I mean, we already got the dinner part over with, so I know I can leave the spork, and the spanks, at home because I won’t be needing them. He’s even kind of a conversationalist, which works great because as a thinker and watcher, I’m kind of a quietasationalist. I was given a reprieve last week. Though to be honest it took an awful lot of cajoling and bribing to get my parents to move out of the house they’ve lived in since the 80′s just to avoid going on a date. (think about it, it’ll come to you). And of course, the days flew by to Friday. Have you ever noticed the more you are anxious about an event the faster it looms until finally the day is here and you are basically hiding under the bed wishing it was still Monday? Uh, well maybe not Monday, but Tuesday’s good. I can’t help it, as a datee, at times I am a disaster. Heck, I reckon as a woman sometimes I am too, its one of those pesky symptoms of being habitually undate-able.» View author and full post…
Color My Mood
First of all, to all those wonderful designers who have recently given me prezzy’s to consider blogging, I’m sorry I haven’t gotten around to them. I’m a retired Cao, so my attention span is rather short. Expecially when the weather is so nice outside. Besides, don’t blame me, you’ll have to blame this one on Nevery Lorakeet of *Les Petits Details* and a few others. I will explain. Mila Tatham of *SoliDea FoliEs* gave me an outfit. Which isn’t a surprise, I’m her manager. This outfit though, is the Celeste outfit. I love the Celeste outfit. It’s Blue! But as a model, I can’t wear the same thing every day right? So I could just wear it around the house or sleep in it. Um, no. Because then I’m not showing it to anyone but KT (the Jack Russell Terriorist), because, as all of you know, I’m undate-able. After being gone last Wednesday to Monday, when I returned I found a folder with a sweet note in it, the folder simply said “For Cao.” Nevery is learning to use blender to create her own mesh items and a bit ago she asked me if I wanted her to make anything specific and I told her if she was serious, she could check my Pinterest account for all of my dream items.» View author and full post…

1. I think, like Strawberry Singh, my first wish would be that Second Life® didn’t carry such a negative connotation eliciting visions of virtual pixel grubbing. I blog as a Second life model, but I write as a Second Life® model but also as a real world writer.» View author and full post…
Why fit in when you were born to stand out? ~ Dr.Seuss
Gorgeous flawless skin from 7Deadly s{K}ins
I’m feeling a little better today. The last dredges of Tuesday nights “drinkfest” have washed away. Those nights are fun while they last, but in the morning I hardly think them worth it. It doesn’t take much to knock me over either; I am such a light weight. I never drink and drive. Shame on you if you do! And I am thankful I’m not a mean drinker, my friends tell me I am quite adorable when I get a little tipsy. I’m sort of the comic relief after a hard day’s work. So, after a few days of misspent youth, I carry further forward with this thing called life.
Kallisto Destiny has created these adorable and cheeky Saturday Capri’s. Definitely a sublime way to ease into a fun-filled weekend!
It’s really gorgeous and sunny outside, my heart aching for the weekend when I can explore down by the beach. The best I can do on a weekday is an evening walk with Katy and opening up the sliding doors and windows at night, but I like it like that. Music is my muse this morning. It seems the only cure when my mind is weary of work and I want to be anywhere but right here.» View author and full post…
Be Slow in Choosing a Friend
Moving really slow to blog today, no excuse really. I had date two last night. The wine was good, the food sublime and the chat mellow, I think I have a slight case of veisalgia today though.
It was fun and he hasn’t thrown me off the Bridge of Lions… yet. I have to think so much before making any step I ever make, I’m not much for jumping into anything with both feet, so time will tell. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Be slow in choosing a friend, slower in changing.” Being a quiet speck, it sometimes takes people time to get used to me and when they ask me every ten minutes “are you okay?” just because I am being quiet, well, it kind of rankles. Some people are just that way, some of us are watchers and thinkers is all. I am the same in Second Life with friends. So just try not to count us out, we will get there eventually, and when we do, you will have a friend for life because watchers and thinkers are typically a pretty loyal lot. Just think about it, we had a hard time acclimating to you as a friend, do you think we are going to just throw it all away in a blink of the eye?» View author and full post…
Save a Boyfriend for a Rainy Day
Time-honored and fashionista-approved, a lush leather piece is more than worth adding to your spring shopping list.
and another in case it doesn’t rain. ~ Mae West . Well it’s that time again. At least I can’t blame my mum this time. This time it’s all my brother’s doing. This is some friend of my brother’s wife’s, brother thing. It gets really scary when it’s that many people removed from people I can actually trust. I can just hear the report on the news when I show up missing, “we aren’t sure who she was last seen with, I think it was the stepfather of her third cousin twice removed,” or some other red-neck sounding thing like that. The last guy I dated that was set up this way, I bought him a down jacket from the local outlet mall, I told him it perfectly matched his personality. He didn’t “get” it. Sometimes, I hate date night. I broke my standing rule too. He is taking me to dinner at some swanky reservations only restaurant. I hope he chews with his mouth closed, I somehow think if I look over at him lovingly and have to stab him with something, they probably won’t have a plastic spork anywhere within reach.» View author and full post…
The Avaricious and the Bellicose
“They’ll either want to kill you, kiss you, or be you.” ~ Suzanne Collins
The Avaricious and the Bellicose. Come on, we all know them, they are just otherwise known as Haters or Internet trolls and if you are a Second Life model or a dedicated blogger, sooner or later you’re going to get up close and personal with one. Human behavior has been as it is for century’s now, it’s not some new phenomenon; envy is one of our biggest challenges in life. And honestly, being nice or not nice, doing or not doing, someone somewhere will hate you no matter what your response is. It’s just a sad fact of life. So right off the bat, don’t be immature and think everyone will like you. Do the best to walk quietly with all whom you encounter but when you meet a hater realize, envy sucks but everyone liking you ain’t gonna happen. Distancing your emotions from the hurt allows you to be free to look at the world without those little pink sunglasses.
“Envy is the art of counting the other fellow’s blessings instead of your own.~Harold Coffin”
I think the best we can do is accept their emotion, but realize typically it’s not YOU they are angry with, they just want something you HAVE, or ironically don’t have, depending on what “it” is.» View author and full post…

“If no mistake have you made, yet losing you are … a different game you should play.” I had to use that quote, someone called me Yoda today and Yoda said it. Not sure if the name is a compliment or not, but I’ll stand by it. He seems a gentle enough sort, even if he is greenish with big hairy ears. It’s a soft blog today, I need to say the new round of L’Accessoires started today, so hurry hurry, I sneak peeked and it’s an awesome one! The hat and purse above are from the event, Bliss Couture and MiWardrobe respectively. I’m breaking some rule of SL blogging probably, but I am recycling today. Why? Because I am fickle thats why! I just love this jacket and the shorts are amazing! But I promise, I’ll move on tomorrow. Maybe. Taxi to L’Accessoires:

What A Wonderful World
Today’s blog will be a quick one. “YAY!!” Say’s my besty, Draakje Dailey. Ah heck, and probably 99% of you out there. This Spring, when you are playing with colors, don’t forget your Color wheel! Ever wonder how some of your favorite fashionistas put colors together to create eye-catching and fabulously colorful outfits? Well, The color wheel is an excellent wardrobe tool!
For a positive success, it is best to make the following combos using the color wheel as your guide:
1. Colors directly next to each other (i.e. yellow and yellow-orange; yellow and lime-green; violet and blue-violet, etc.)
2. Colors that form right (90 degree) angles with each other (i.e. yellow and red-orange; blue and crimson; green and orange, etc.) *I find the crimson a bit of a misnomer as the colors are more in the purple shades, but will call it this since it’s on the color wheel that way.
3. Colors directly across from each other (i.e. yellow and violet; blue and orange; red and green, etc.)
4. Colors that form a T (i.e. blue, orange, and crimson; yellow, violet, and red-orange; green, red, and orange, etc.)
5. Colors that form an X (i.e. blue, orange, crimson, and lime green; yellow, violet, turquoise and re-orange)
Since brown is a neutral, it will go with virtually any color on the color wheel.» View author and full post…
