I’m not much for contests, having only done really two other ones prior ({mon tissu} and Glam Affair), but I thought I would try my hand at Truth Hawk’s “TRUTH Model Search” contest in which you can find out all the information HERE. Since it’s pretty well known that Truth has been around eons and most of us have at least 39048320958230582038 of his hairstyles, then you know that he has come out with six brand new looks! I’m showing off Lotus in Ginger04Fade – one of the new textures/colors. It’s a bit different from my Pumpkinpie, but I’ll get used to it.

Truth model search
By the time I get to type up this post, I am pretty sure the word got out all over SL already…
BUT just in case you didn’t know by now…
Truth Hawks is searching for models to decorate his new store with 
To enter, Join this group to be in the running to win a $L2500 Truth Gift Card and have your picture featured in the store!
10 lucky winners will be selected initially and when it’s time to rotate the posters Truth will continue to select pictures from the pool and they will receive a $1000 gift card to spend at Truth.
Competition opens 14 May 2013 SLT and closes 1 June 2013.

Truth has recently released 6 amazing female hairstyles, and he has also made new texture packs!

* Minimum 2048 x 2048 pixels in size.
* Focus of the photo should be on the hair. Waist upwards is encouraged.

Truth Model Search
Truth has a model search going on and I thought it would be fun to participate. You can find all the details on the Truth Model Search Flickr page — though here is the information that you need.
The competition opens 14 May 2013 SLT and closes 1 June 2013. You are encouraged to continue to add pictures even after the closing date. Initially 10 winners will be selected and winners receive a gift certificate and your picture on display at the store. Is that awesome or what?
Terms of the search:
* The hair you wear must be from the new Truth Hair store. The hair purchase must be on or after 13 May 2013.
* The picture must be at minimum 2048 x 2048 pixels in size.
* The focus of the photo should be on the hair and waist up pictures are encouraged.
* Processing is encouraged, and it is recommended that you turn on your anti-aliasing etc., as high quality pictures are required.
* Your entry must be submitted to the Flickr group www.flickr.com/groups/truthmodels.

Art Garden Gallery – art contest
Hi Artists,
On June 3rd The Art Garden Gallery will host a month long exhibition/competition entitled…
” Dreams of Summer”
We are inviting artists from across Second Life to submit works that evoke “Summer”.
The competition will be judge by a diverse group assembled from across SL.
The prizes are as follows:
- 10,000 Linden Gold Medal (First Place)
- 5,000 Linden Silver Medal (Second Place)
- 2,500 Linden Bronze Medal (Third Place)
Following the Competition the Gold and Silver medal winners (First and Second Place) will be offered a Featured Exhibition in our special Exhibit Areas “A” and “B” where they may hang their best works. (Exhibition Runs till Sept. 1st)
Additionally, the winners and any “Honorable mention” candidates will be featured in our online Gallery @ Artgardengallery.org. and on our facebook page:

Although we do not allow sales directly from the Gallery we will heavily promote your work and make sure patrons can find your gallery space where they can view and purchase your art.

Elfies Unite For Fashion Enters a Photography Contest

Glam Affair has a new contest for their beautiful Amberly skin. It's a fun way to showcase your style and show-off your favorite editions of this skin. The linden prizes are really nice and also Aida Ewing will photograph the winners in the upcoming Luria skin launch!
You can submit two photos for the contest and here are my entries. I had a lot of fun putting together the looks. It was very hard to choose a skin, because I love the makeups for the main skin line and of course the Petal special edition.
Deadline is March 15th! Hurry up and submit your photos!

Austerity chic! The SL Top Model Contest Freebie Styling Challenge
So, the eagerly awaited notice arrives….next week’s SL Top Model challenge! I wait for the notecard to load, wondering what fabulous designer or hot fashion trend we’ll be asked to emulate this week…and I read…
Oh dear! No “runway-to-reality-haute-casual-minimalist-neo-avant-garde-chic” for us this week! We’re allowed to wear our own skin, hair, lashes and nails, but everything else – clothes, shoes and accessories must be freebies. And that doesn’t mean stuff we were given by designers either – it all has to come from 2 specific freebie stores. The challenge is to show we can ”make anything fabulous”!
With some trepidation, I teleport to The Free Dove, and start to survey the higgledy piggledy stacks of boxes…this takes me back to 2009 when as a noobie avatar I started learning the fine art of SL shopping at just such stores. And I swear, there’s some stuff here I saw in 2009 too!
I have no idea what I’m going to do for this, so I just keep scanning boxes and wait for inspiration to arrive. There are gifts from some well known designers in the mix, but I feel that to use them out of the box would be making it too easy…I have to find some hidden treasure to make something truly original.
