A Steam Holiday….

… brought to you by The Black Market this month, is this adorable Steampunk styled outfit by adoness. I simply love the level of detail that has gone into this outfit, from the black lace underskirt, to the pocket watch detailing on the collar. I have teamed this dress with the absolutely adorable Timea ankle boots from lassitude & ennui (recently available at My Second Box… they will be available to buy in store in January). The adorable skin I am wearing is part of a series of winter/ holiday themed skins released by Aeva for the super-low price of L$100, head over there and snatch these up while they are still available, because they won’t be around for much longer!!

InFo:

Skin: Aeva ~ Jaci/ Mistletoe Kiss,
Hair: Heart Softens ~ Hemi (store closed, no longer available, sorry),
Eyes: Adore & Abhor ~ Confetti Eyes/ Rose (new release and recent FLF),

I’m a huge mesh fan, you probably would have guessed that already from the amount of mesh items on this blog, but for some things, good old fashioned flexi prims  are still best. Like for non 100% sleek gowns. That said, I’d love to see what happens when Nicky Ree starts to use her mad texture skills on mesh!!

Vintage Fair Ploom & CIA designs

Hair by Ploom and dress by CIA designs. Skin by Belleza and Jewelry by Caroline’s. Click the image for full credits

CIA designs is new to me, but this black sequined number is pretty fabulous, even though it does give me quite a bit of “junk in the trunk”. Ploom hair isn’t always my cup of tea, but when it is, it’s like the best Earl Grey ever and in this case, it’s served with a slice of lemon, just like I love it!!

I still have so much to share from Vintage Fair, do you hate me already? Vintage Fair Preview: Molichino & Belleza

Skin by Belleza, Gown by Molichino. Click image for more credits

Aaaaah, the early decades of the 20th century… the interbellum, the first serious female emancipation wave. The Roaring Twenties, Flappers, the Charleston, Miss Coco Chanel but also the Prohibition  and then the massive Krach of the financial markets in 1929 followed by the biggest crisis of the 20th century in the 30′s, and the increase of international tension in the run up towards WWII. Not a dull era for sure.

The rich and famous however were not much affected by all of the above, and continued (much like today) their life of leisure and luxury, and especially over here in Europe where the prohibition was not an issue at all, they would enjoy their decadent soirees with grand crus, cognac and other luxury products.

To match the above described time, Molichino has created 2 beautiful gowns for Vintage fair, wearing the Jaci dress here which is sleek and stylish with a lace overlay on a satin base. Belleza will offer some special skins at Vintage Fair, of which thisone is the 30′s make up.

Bella

This beautiful sleek Bella gown is from Rebel Hope‘s mesh department. I couldn’t resist buying it in red, too, but for this post I preferred the lush teal one. I’m wearing it with LaGyo‘s Bird of Prey necklace and La Chimera head piece. Truth‘s Vicky is a perfect updo with this headpiece.  Lily v1 from Belleza is pretty much one of my 2 go to skins these days, and I really love how soft it looks on me.» View author and full post…

Once Upon a Time….

In a land far, far away, there was a lovely princess wearing Lara Hurley‘s Snow White skin and Chantkare‘s Oscar dress with this awesome apple head dress! Because smart princesses better come prepared…. When the evil queen comes knocking on the door of the 7 dwarfs’ house, the princess will throw hers at the evil queen and chase her away. Girls just simply can’t trust on princes coming along to kiss them back to life these days.

In an other country, equally far away there was Malificent, wearing Sakide‘s Malificent outfit and Belleza‘s Evil Queen skin. But she’s a bit melancholic as you can see, because  everyone thinks she’s a bitch but honestly, she was made into that by evil Charles Perrault who wrote The Sleeping Beauty. Misunderstood villain… poor thing….

Little Red Riding hood got fed up with red and her sugary sweet imago and decided to do it all different today. Teal is the new red, she thought, and with a click on her nose she changed Exile‘s Lady in Red hair into Lady in teal. With her new sassy look, she threw her   girly ruffled blouse away and decided to face the wolf the way the amazons used to face their enemies.» View author and full post…

Calima

Bliss Couture has a gorgeous new gown out, named Calima but because I’m a lazy shorty, I can’t get the gown part to fit me and while I have no issue adjusting my shape, I just can’t get myself to go disproportionate and  max my legs out to 100 to make it fit. Sorry Amutey, I love you, but I just can’t!

However, this gown has a gorgeous bodice that looks like a flower, and it wears very well with Glam Affair‘s Sara pants, so here is a perfect alternative! I’m wearing it with the Calima puffy gloves that are part of the gown and Mandala‘s Ceekeeey earrings. Hair is Cherie, from Shag, and skin is Lily V1, by Belleza.» View author and full post…

Miamai’s New Bridal Collection

Stunning, modern, less than traditional, fashionable… just a few words to describe the new bridal collection by Miamai. It was my pleasure to shoot a few of Monica Outlander’s creations. I hope you like them as much as I do. Evelina has this gorgeous mesh corset over a otherwise pretty traditional gown. All the gowns from Miamai‘s new bridal collection come in a demure range of colors such as such as Oyster, Dove, and Ivory, but also in the traditional white, if that is more to your taste.Strictly spoken, Marlene is not a bridal gown, since it comes with trousers. But with the beautiful lace shrug and veil, it’s a very good choice for a less conformist bride. The feathers on the belt and in the veil are giving it that typical Miamai signature.I am so honored that Monica decided to name this gown after RL me. Caroline is a sumptuously textured combination of a traditional (clothing layer) bodice with a mesh gown and the jeweled veil is just stunning. Also, it was my pleasure to model the dress for Monica for her collection booklet. Thanks Moni!! ♥
