More Firestorm tests

My experiments are continuing (when time allows) with the new version of Firestorm. I can’t take pictures of more than 4,000 pixels like other people, but I don’t remember being able to do that in the past anyway. Changing the settings to more than 3,000 pixels wide would add lines to images.

I think all I need until Santa brings me a new computer is a gentler face light or illuminator. Any recommendations would be gratefully received.

Unplugged

Sometimes taking pictures doesn’t go quite to plan. I got the original of this one to final edit after a couple of hours’ work to realise I missed an error that no editing magic could fix.

Back to the drawing board.

I then upgraded to the new version of Firestorm and had the black screen of death, the pink screen of death and some thinking time to read the jira entries while downloading 180 megabytes of updated graphics drivers.

Then I repeated the process as nothing worked and followed different recommendation for my laptop and downloaded another 180 megabytes of drivers. I have SL but now my images are too soft in focus (depth of field is off to no avail) and the new video drivers have made my screen blurry in places on the laptop.

I’ll try again another day when I have time. I can see an upside in that I somehow have shadows now and there’s a bazillion more windlight settings to play with!

Corrosion

I was checking out wuwaichun’s flickr stream for some new places to visit and Cica Ghost’s Rust installation caught my eye.

It’s a little bit corroded cogs and fences, a little bit of steampunk and a little bit of whimsical animals to bring rusted, ageing elements alive with clever lighting and movement. It’s an inspiring place to visit.

The 2013 Pose Fair

This year’s Pose Fair is on now until 14 April and the official web site is here. I’ve loved reading all the blog feeds with new poses and props and can’t wait to visit when I have some SL time tomorrow.

Thank you to RubyStarlight Writer for keeping the fair going this year. I still have boxes of poses (and a horse) not used from last year’s fair so I’m preparing to add even more goodies  to my inventory.

I received some wonderful news this week that I’m on the blogger list for HelaMiyo Poses. Miyoko Magic has four packs of poses that will be released at the Pose Fair 2013 show and this one is from the new ‘Levitation’ set.

The time is running out quickly for Skin Fair 2013 and you know you do not want to miss it, so head on over there as soon as you can. There are two sims full of stores with all sorts of skin yumminess, there is sure to be something you’ll love.

One of the skins I discovered at Skin Fair, and love bunches is the newest Rockberry, Paige. Shown here is the natural tone (you can choose between four tones), and two of my most favorite make ups, but I couldn’t decide on another to show, so I decided to give you a glimpse of them all. Paige comes in twelve make up options per skin tone. You can choose just one at a very afforable price, or buy the whole pack for your best value, and you surely won’t be disappointed. You also will get tattoo layers for black and brown eyebrows, as well as freckles too. You also get the option of cleavage, or not, on the skin itself which is always nice as you wont be losing important things at the wrong time!
