Get Your Goth On in Gothika!

Today is World Goth Day! This means that Club Gothika in World Goth Fair will be having a party of fourteen hours. Yes, fourteen. Seven DJs, seven different gothic themes, ridiculous amount of prizes with the winner takes it all principle and all around gothic entertainment.

I’ll be hosting the Best in Vampire party at 2-4pm SLT for DJ Acerose Razor and decided I liked my hostess look so much that I’d blog it. The ruins behind me are where the party will occur, right in the middle of the WGF Cursed. The first shift starts at 10am SLT and the party eventually stops fourteen hours later at midnight SLT. Goth Bunnies

They come in many sizes and shapes. Sometimes even without any visible ears or tail. They have white skin (or fur), gothic coloured hair and clothes and a penchant to clap their hands at vampires, instead of running away like more sensible rabbits would.

Who’s to say that bunnies cannot have tiny fangs as well? Or at least a preference for colours that are not pastels? Maybe there’s a secret bunny underground, opposing the damnable association to pink? Begone already, abomination unto the gods of colour!

One must remember though that no matter what colours a bunny wears or style she prefers, they cannot escape their true nature. You can cover them in black and blood-red, give them bad-ass weapons and observe them trying to fang-hiss while wiggling their noses, it’s no use: the cute is always there.

You cannot blame them, though. There are two defences a bunny can have: run fast or be too cute to kill. Have you ever tried to run in high heels or a gala dress? Did not think so.

Astrid and the Anglerfish

It sounds almost like a story, titled like that. It could easily be one, too. If you manage to have a pet anglerfish, especially one that magically survives out of water, there’s bound to be a story behind the sharp teeth.

There’s something absolutely enchanting in stories, pictures and views that present to us normality with just one thing out of place. Just one surreal detail breaking the surface, pulling us into a story, into a different setting, thought pattern, mindscape.

Somehow the reality surrounding the one strange thing makes the thing even stranger. If you find a piece of magic in what should be an ordinary day, it stands out against all the dull normalcy even brighter. Makes us look at everything more carefully, more in detail. Makes us think. Makes us see.

Perhaps makes us even realize that if you learn how to look, there is magic in our ordinary lives. You just have to remember to attune to it to be able to see it.

American Idol ran over though, of course, so I ONLY got to see up to the part where Emma and Will were pronounced. Did Blaine ever get to propose? Did Kurt say yes? Some time ago i did a blog about some of my favourite shops over the past year, on that post you can find here: These are a few of my favourite things part 1 i talked mostly about skins, and of course a lot was left out, so today i bring you clothes and jewelry.

Now let´s talk about clothes, the advent of mesh brought a lot of changes to how we wear clothes these day, issues with standard sizes, templates and deformer where highly talked this year, most creators had to adapt and learn not also mesh but rigging, for some it was easier than for others, a huge amount of new shops came out, and a few won ground in customer preferences. I adore mesh clothes, system layers and even hybrids of both.

The amount of shops i usually wear here is quite big and it would be impossible to talk extensively about them all, so i´m gonna simply name a few of my favourites over the past year and talk maybe a bit more on some newcomers.

All i want for Gothmas…

It´s you, to come and join me at today´s opening of Gothmas by Gaslight.

You might remember Gothmas by Gaslight from last year but in the hunt format, this year it´s back but with something we all love a lot more, which is gatchas, i enjoy Christmas a lot but mostly in RL to be honest in SL around this time of year i tend to stay away from the holiday items, and that´s why i adore Gothmas by Gaslight, and the darker twist on the traditional things we get to see all over around this season.

I also like Gothy stuff, although i have no idea what i´m doing with it most of the time really, do enjoy it even tho i´m certainly sure, i don´t have a goth bone in me, as i see it a wonderful way to experiment with looks and get away from my comfort zone completely, and i´m lucky that my good friend Bronxie who is the most GAF (goth as f***) person i know let´s me tag along all goth events she´s involved without calling me out on my lack of gothyness .

Anais Wants Some Cake

I was cruel and didn’t rez any, but I kept thinking of Marie Antoinette throughout the shoot. Anais is actually a new hairstyle by Zibska: a huge updo that speaks of having nothing but time and servants to do your hair.

The Phoebe boots are by lassitude & ennui, classic lace-up boots that work for vintage autumn, steampunk or even delightful decadence like above. They’re at the moment available in L’accessoires event in several colours, each of the colours including a dark and light wood option for the soles and heels. I contemplated posing naked, but finding twisty enough poses to keep it only slightly indecent was too challenging. Fortunately I located this vamp corset by Sn@tch from my inventory for fitting cover!

The dominant over-the-board Vargas makeup is another new release by Zibska. The skin is one of Glam Affair’s gatcha ones in The Arcade, with an adorable baroque-vibed blush on otherwise practically white skin. The eyes by Insufferable Dastard and the snake ring by [HANDverk] are from the same event. The Stranglehold choker is by House of Rain and it’s available in the Zombie Cheerio Gacha here. Chalice

It’s actually called just Darkness wine glass, but it’s so pretty it deserved a fancier title. It’s the Twisted Hunt prize by The Fooding and it practically radiates dark promises and enchantments of any kind imaginable.

The chalice is set on the bloodied table of Dark Ritual Temple by Stone Misery and is at the moment longingly stared at by this soon-to-be-twisted blue faun by Aeva//Heartsick. She refused any clothing, but was happy to wear the delicately detailed As Darkness Falls necklace by House of Rain.

One sip should not harm much, right? If you want some, I’m sure she’ll share~
