I noticed when doing my credits for this post that I have two “E” items which had me asking plurk for more. . The first is this cute leather mini from E! (see the exclamation point) which is Eclectic Apparel, the work of Eclectic Wingtips. It comes with a hud that allows you to change the metal findings from gold to silver to black and back. You also can change the upper “belt/sash” portion with several color and print options. It’s sassy and short and just the perfect choice for the new ruffled top from La Penderie de Nicole, which also comes with options, including black with several choices in contrast ruffle lining. 

I found one small problem with the skirt when I walked. It did not get along with my walk animation. I talked to Eclectic Wingtips, the designer, who has made a longer alpha so that if your AO and the skirt conflict, you can add the longer alpha. Wingtips prefers to keep the alpha as short as possible to give you more options when taking pictures.

The shoes from MiaMai are adorable with cute anklets that can be changed with the accompanying hud.

I have seriously fallen behind in the 50 Shades of Sexy Challenge which is such a shame because it is so much fun! On the bright side,the catching up will be a blast and a whirlwind lingerie purchases (much to Gopu’s pixel delight! Ha ha) This is week 18 and the theme is Peek A Boo which perfectly coincidences with the Hide and Seek Hunt gift from elephante poses, You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away!

I’ve been wanting to purchase this adorable vintage lingerie set from League for quite some time and since I was going for a vintage look for the Peek-A-Boo challenge theme…. it is now mine… all mine! There are multiple ways to wear the design and a separate pack was included with the lingerie so the items can be worn with outfits. *swoon * The bloomer are just too cute!

Yesterday Limited Bazaar opened it’s doors and there was a stampede of Maxi Gossamer fans flocking for the first clicks to purchase her limited edition necklaces. Score! Items are on sale at Limited Bazaar until the item sells to 100 people….then the vendor is shut down. There are some truly artistic items this round and the theme is “surreal.”

A new event “World Goth Fair” just started. I have to admit I hear of that for the first time Probably because I´m not that into goth. Anyway, I visited this fair and found a cute little dress, a jacket and the fitting boots from lassitude & ennui. The dress and the jacket can be worn separately!

Never because of rain, rain can be good. Sun, however… hiss. Besides, there’s something appealing in sun parasols, twirling them about. Umbrellas are practical, usually pulled and pushed by the wind, but parasols have a dainty flair to them, almost a coquette vibe.

Therefore every gothic lolita outfit really does need a gothbrella, preferably with lace and spiderwebs and perhaps tiny delicate skulls attached. No such thing as practicality when you aim to look like a Victorianesque doll, an extremely dark one, and all the more alluring for it.

There’s a gacha of gothbrellas by ~ *Souzou Eien* ~ in Cursed in World Goth Fair: both sims have a separate gacha area of convenience for just-take-my-money moments. The makeup and eyes by Beautiful Freak and the outfit by Adoness can be found in Cursed. The skin by Jalwa is located in Port Seraphine.

As I’m sure regular readers know I work in real life (Shh! I know we don’t like to talk about that!) so my time in-world is often limited.  This means I have to play ‘catch-up’ when I finally come back in, and I have to say that at the moment Second Life is really overwhelming me due to the amount of events that are currently running on the grid. I shouldn’t complain too much though, it’s a good time to be an avatar, especially if you want to be a super-stylish one too!

Problem for me as a blogger is that there are so many events in-world that I know I can’t possibly do justice to them all on these pages. You have to appreciate that these kinds of occasions take weeks of planning and organising so it’s only fair that when they begin they receive the quality coverage they deserve.

Perhaps one of my issues is that when I attend an event I like to take my time and wander around them, and then I  get distracted, go back to stores repeatedly and have another look, and then forget where I saw things that really caught my eye in the first place.» View author and full post…

Finally, the long awaited World Goth Fair is open. Or, as most of us merchants felt the day before opening “Can we have another few days to make more things, pleeeease?” >.> Hell, I know for a fact a few merchants are still working on things to be released by World Goth Day, but I’ll write more about that later.

The Fair takes place over two sims, Cursed (adult) and Port Seraphine so make sure you visit both locations and don’t miss out on any of the goodies.

Into the sun. It’s in a way exactly what the Sophie Lancaster Foundation is about: working on spreading tolerance to include also the people who simply dress differently. It’s rather mind-breakingly sad that this has to be any kind of issue, but we all know it is. The world is exactly that sometimes: mind-breakingly sad.

There should be a base respect within us for other human beings, no matter what they look like or how they dress. It is strange how much easier it is to channel all the negativity you feel toward anything different than to face what is really the matter. No one can change how people react toward differences, but we can change what is considered different. Eventually.

Most importantly, we should — everyone should — stop trying to hide in the shadows and simply be who you are, no matter if it fits in the norm or not. Same of course vice versa, don’t try to be something you are not. Simply be yourself. Be so proudly, in the sun. The norm will change in time: gradually, eventually, one person at a time.

My seven days of memes has reached it’s end.  It’s been interesting looking back over past years through SL answering some of Strawberry’s questions over various memes.  I’m ending the meme week with some wishes; My Three SL Wishes to be precise.  Then I will be getting stuck into blogging the World Goth Fair which opens tomorrow and I am so excited.

Wish 1 – Better Avatar Shaping Controls.  I love curvy shapes.  Some people in SL make some really fantastic curvy shapes for themselves but I always cringe when I see the skinny ankles and knobbly knees.  Not to mention the square boobs for those that have larger sized SL Avatar boobs and not the mesh ones.  I would really love to be able to control the shape a whole lot more to make it more even when making a larger shape.

Wish 2 – Prim Allocation on Land Separation.  It’s one thing I have always despised when owning sims and dividing up the land into parcels. I wish there was a way we could allocate what amount of prims from the sim we wanted to a specific parcel instead of the sim just allocating some weird random number based on the size of the parcel.» View author and full post…

Okay so tomorrow a very important event opens! This is the World Goth Fair 2013. If you know nothing about this fair then check out the webpage HERE. The basic information is that proceeds from the SL fair go towards the Sophie Lancaster Foundation which focuses on creating respect and understanding of subcultures within our communities. This is a UK based charity.

So as part of this SL designers who are participating in this have created a variety of items available for this fair. Where indicated most items have a percentage that is paid towards the charity.

The SKIN that I am wearing I LOVE, and it is really not usual for me to wear such a pale skin, but The Plastik skins are always such lovely quality. So as I have said, this skin is available from The Plastik which will be located on the Cursed Sim of the Goth Fair! (Skin comes with the freckle option, so you do not have to have freckles, also I am wearing a tattoo layer on my face that is from a different place…see below)

Today I’m going to showcase items from some really amazing stores. Alot of us are aware of lassitude & ennui for their amazing meshwork on shoes, clothing, jewelry, and etc…

The picture below was me playing around with windlight, I started off wearing the dress that jackal released as a RFL item at Fantasy Faire but this morning I decided to wear a different dress.

I decided on a dress from a store that is new to me, ^v^DRBC^v^. I loved the texture work and it was sexy and worked well with the macabre jewelry set.

Last but not least, I need to talk about this skin. Really fellow goths on my plurk timeline how have I not ever heard of this store. Faerycat Designs created one of the most beautiful gothic skins and you can purchase lipsticks seperately. I went for a more classic gothic look and used one of the dark red colors with lip liner. Also, I can’t forget about the appliers for SLINK hands and feet. I had to play with my new SL mesh hands now and I finally was able to with the skin applier hud. I threw on some nails from Kosh to finish my look.» View author and full post…
