SL DisneyBound – Week Three: Gaston

No one hops like Gaston
Spins on tops like Gaston
In the garden there no one eats crops like Gaston
I’m especially good at munching carrots!
(Omnomnomnom!)
Ten points for Gaston!

Not in Wonderland Anymore

My Gaston is a bit of a bunny, actually, inspired in part by this adorable dress from Ambrosia which was one of the RMK Gothic Bunny hunt prizes (collar, cuffs, and ears included). This year I actually remembered to get all of my prizes, which is amazing! I have some duplicates, so I’m thinking of hooking my alts up. My big concession to Gaston is my black Wasabi Pills hair, where some of the orangy-yellow from his outfit is found (I also tinted the collar and cuffs, which began white). The little ring I’m wearing is also a hunt prize, but this time one at the Noodles store, along with several other store hunts. Gaston’s brown boots are a modification of G Field‘s fur cuff boots – I figured I hunted the fur myself, so it’s cool to wear.

I have loads I want to say – rants about the mistreatment of women on the internet, explanations about different mental health issues, analysis of various social and psychological topics, but every time I open the box to type in, my brain is entirely emptied.

Cada poco tiempo me acerco hasta LEA para ver las fantásticas creaciones que se exponen en cada uno de sus escenarios.

Twisted Color Challenge: Week 9 – Lyndhurst Plum

Adopted

I’m squeaking in under the wire for Lyndhurst Plum, a color which I really struggled to set up a look for until I finally searched through my sorted clothing for this very old dress from The Crystal Queendom (currently closed). I still don’t think it’s exactly right – the blue is too bright, the purple too shiny – but it’s close enough for government work, and I was getting work out! The twisted challenge is definitely a lot harder than just a single color; usually I could match a color pretty well, but sometimes I simply can’t find the two different ones in clothing which can be combined. I’m hampered by the fact that I tend to wear full outfits, not separates. It adds a whole different challenge to the whole thing! I paired the dress with a casual new style from Wasabi Pills, showing some of her new curls and little wisps around the ears. I’m really liking the looser style of this new hair; it will be interesting to see how far she takes the curls. The bracelets are an old purchase from Digital Eyes» View author and full post…, and they really fit the casual, flirty style I’m working on.

Further Along the Path

Further Along the Path - Main Display

Location: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA2/179/186/23

Dates: May, June, and July of 2012 (Now closed)
Pictures Credits: Deoridhe Quandry

Further Along the Path: Is a sequel to “The Path,” a collaborative project brought together last year. In the words of Bryn Oh, it “is an immersive project based around the exquisite corpse concept sometimes used by the Surrealists.  Essentially, each artist adds to a composition in sequence.” Windlight is central to the displays, and a notice in the beginning area encourages people to view it via the Firestorm viewer so the Windlight changes can be seamless. The teleport between different displays is the telephone in each scene, but a notecard containing links can be gotten at the beginning area.

Glyph Graves: Fade

Glyph Graves says, “My art in SL is currently focused on the interplay between form, structure, texture and transformation wich underpins much of my work. As well as the normal digital tools of graphic and 3D modeling programs, I also freely make use of Linden Scripting Language as both my chisel and my paintbrush. I’m always pleasantly surprised at the depth and the dimensionality that’s available for art in Second Life and in virtual media per se.” More of his work can be found on the UWA Winthrop Sim» View author and full post….
