Since the remake of ‘The Great Gatsby’ is coming to the cinema soon, and I’ve always loved the 1920′s fashion and jazz music, I’m excited and looking forward to seeing the movie! Volstead is a new to me store which offers beautiful evening dresses that fit the period, you should definitely try the demos if you’re into this style of clothes! And I just love the colour change Garbo hat from LeeZu. The pictures were taken at Shady Falls, a beautiful roleplaying sim well worth a visit!

Morning Lovelies! <3

I have more goodies to show you from Collabor88 this morning.

First is the Sky Into the Woods Dress and Cloud Into the Woods Parasol by Schadenfreude. The dress and parasol are beautifully made, and come in some soft, pretty colors. I paired it with the Margot skin in the Europa tone that you can pick up at the event as well. Also, yay for Glam Affair coming out with hand and feet appliers!

It’s almost summer, so it’s time to break out the bright colors and find a pretty sim for some pictures. I started at Whiskey Monday’s new landscape show at the Kelly Yap Art Gallery, which is lovely even if it does make me ache with envy – her landscapes are amazing and I want to take pictures with them.After yearning there, I followed the thread to her art gallery at Edloe, under the Listening Room, and the under is important, because after I spent a while spending time in her props pretending I was awesome, I found my way out and across a bridge to Catgirl’s Harbour, which was absolutely gorgeous. I found bridges, cute little ponds, lovely living electronics, and a small nest of meeroos, all in a small section of sim with a beautiful coastline and in view of Edloe. I was already dressed to the nines, so an impromptu photoshoot was simply called for. I’m mostly wearing things I picked up at Collobor88, though I have mixed feelings about attending after learning that bloggers and users associated with the Liaison Collaboration were banned from the sim (some info here» View author and full post…). It’s always hard to know how to react when people do things you’re not sure you agree too – but since at least one of the banned women specifically said she still blogs the event, and because so much of the details are unknown, I ended up deciding to swing by and see many of my favorite creators at work.

If you aren’t a 20 something and you hearken back to your youth, you’ll remember that back in the day in the Peanuts cartoons, Snoopy was often working on his book. His book always begins “It was a dark and stormy night…”. What you might not know is that there is an entire, long running fiction contest centered around this premise – beginning terrible fiction with the phrase IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT.

I actually once purchased a compendium of the Bulwer -Lytton contest entries and laughed for days reading it. It’s one of the seminal phrases in American faux literature, and when I rezzed Barnesworth Anubis new skybox for Collabor88 – my first thought was OMG IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT.

With it’s classic European moulding detail, and beautiful windows letting in light and looking out across the rooftops of Paris (Which is different that Under the Roofs of Paris by Henry Miller which is TOTALLY NOT THE SAME AT ALL OMG NO) I have to confess that now I have to move house again.

Welcome back, my darlings! I have brought you a special treat for today’s post, I just couldn’t resist, I do hope you enjoy!
The dress and parasol, new items from the talented creators behind Schadenfreude and now available at the new round of Collabor88 in several color options to mix and match, was an instant favorite! I couldn’t resist the vintage southern feel to it, and found a delightful sim to help “set the tone” of the photograph itself! Love the textures, love the fit, zero modding for my shape and shading and highlights exactly where you’d expect them to be! Gorgeous dress at a low price, and the added parasol accent is just darling, I love it! Make sure to check it out when you head over that way!

Good quote and kind of fitting to this post because sometimes the people closest to you are very different from you and that's exactly how it is with me and one of my SL besties, Dinalya. Anyone who knows us can attest that we are like night and day in so many ways. It's a wonder that our friendship works out beings we are so different but you know what they say, opposites attract, so our friendship shines on.

When we both put on our Schadenfreude dresses, I said we were the sun and the moon so that's how this quote comes into play. Oh and we are letting Quinn in his new Kauna suit be the stars I guess. He initially said he was space junk but stars are prettier so yeah. Besides, he's just happy to be have two hot chicks in his arms! Seriously though, I don't know what I'd do without these two in my SL. I love them both very much and am happy that I met them. They keep a smile on my face in this otherwise gray time in my SL.

My post today is a little sad. Kaelyn Alecto sadly announced this week that, due to recent changes in the Second Life TOS, her sim It All Starts With A Smile will only be around until 15th May. This makes me very sad because it was a beautiful sim decorated and maintained with so much love and affection and designed to be a haven for bloggers and friends and lovers and photographers and it’s a very sad loss for the whole Second Life community that it will be going.
