Chasing White Rabbits
When Jefferson Airplane wrote White Rabbit, they took a common story and twisted it into something artistic, edgy and bold. The lyrics warn – “And if you go chasing rabbits… And you know you’re going to fall” (Jefferson Airplane, White Rabbit. 1967)
New from the House of Eliot, Exclusive Liv-Glam at Designer Showcase, EMO-tions and Chop Zuey
I’ve had the most thrilling week this week in Second Life despite some overwhelming challenges off line. I know that we often say ‘real life comes first’ but sometimes the real life that has to come first is just ick. I love the dichotomy of two worlds, one online and one off. I like when both are in harmony and if one gets out of balance, it’s tough to get everything important back in balance.
EMO-tions released four different hair choices with an Oriental theme. This Yuki is the third out of four that I’ve shown you. If only my hair would look like this again off line, but in my case, I began growing silver hair at 24 and it’s been getting more and more so over the years.
The fourth of EMO-tions Oriental looks is Suri, shown above with the purple gown. It’s one of those messy styles with twists and braids and chop sticks holding it together that takes hours to look this good. Messy is more difficult than a perfect coif.
I met Virlay this week while I was exploring her new store, The House of Eliot. She had a free gown out called the Gypsy gown and since I’d never tried any of her designs, a free gift item was a good way to go.» View author and full post…
K-Collection from Liv-Glam, New EMO-tions and New Face Paint
I thrive in creative moments, with people of interest, people of intelligence and people driven by similar passions. I’ve explored all sorts of ways to invest time and energy into Second Life based on this.
Recently, Liv-Glam added a new designer and the K-Collection came into existence. Liv-Glam is a very good example of all those things that make me feel alive and vibrant and excited because the energy generated there is amazing.
We’re all artists of a sort in Second Life. From the newly arrived who work to stretch the sliders and create their first avi to the newest building learning tips and tricks on how to get buildings of all sorts to look great.
One way I display my own personal sense of art comes in each styling of clothing. I search for clothing that suits my aesthetic and then work to make the clothing look best with the right accessories. Another way I display my sense of art shines here with every word I type. I continue to be a passionate writer. Blogging, styling, writing, modeling, designing… these are just some of the ways we express ourselves artistically. When I put on the Hope Jumpsuit from the K-Collection, it immediately felt like ME.» View author and full post…
A Mixed Bag of This and That
The Pimp My Valentine Hunt is in full swing. It will continue to run through the fifteenth of Februay. Many of the items are precious fun pieces to add to your avi that celebrate the lovers’ holiday.
Kaithleen contributed this sexy and short mesh skirt to the PMVH hunt. Because I’ve worked with her designs before, I know this is a great example of her work and quality. Paired with this, also from the PMVH hunt comes the choker you see in the photo. I know they didn’t collaborate, but the way the choker from Freya seemed to match the skirt was great (one note – the choker is color change so it will also go with other great looks).
You also see a new pair of boots called 80s Flat Knee High boots from [VCB]. The top also comes from [VCB] and pulled the overall look together. I don’t go ‘dark’ very often, but when I do get pieces that lend themselves well to it, I go for it.
Eladon Galsworthy (newly married in world congrats!) and PondLife (Intimate Live) has a massive array of items you might find useful for the lover’s holiday. Whether you want something sweet and innocent or something extra naughty, you’ll find it at PondLife.» View author and full post…
Baboom Releases a Retro 50s Frock and Face Paint Offers a New Release for 55L Thursday
The beauty and creativity of the designer at Baboom appears endless. Kyra Camel releases news every now and then and I go ‘ahhh’, knowing before I even look at the release that I’m going to love it.
This dress mixes the mesh and non-mesh pieces to create a dress reminiscent of the 1950′s. Pink and Turkles is the color combination, and I love the word Turkles! It’s a pretty hue of turquoise that accents the pink and polka dot. You’ll receive a pair of heels as well with this dress, making it easier to style.
It’s amazing to me that the Chop Zuey jewelry I chose to wore with this dress match to a perfection that reminds me of collaborations between designers. It’s THAT good a match! The new make-up is easier to see in this photo, and comes to you from Face Paint as this week’s newest release and at 55L it’s a great time to grab it and see if the new Helios series will work for you!

Tunika from Baboom, Lavina from EMO-tions and Zanze’s FREE Floral Headband
I enjoy the compilation of pieces in this photo. The different designers bring quality to Second Life regularly and so much more. I respect them all and feel more alive and elegant in Second Life when I use their products. I think that’s how it’s supposed to be!
I have the cutest gold headband from Zanze tucked in my bright and wild hair, Lavina in fire from EMO-tions. With the arrival of 2013, EMO-tions has added an array of beautiful new colors in each design and many designs to suit every occasion.
The headband may tease you to check out the new location of Zanze in Zenshi because it’s a free gift! If you haven’t seen the newest array of content creators gathered in one location and presenting the best of their best exclusive items at this location, you should go and be sure you check out Zanze’s collection.
Baboom presents such positive energy drawn into her creations from her special personal spirit. Putting on this Mesh Blue Tunika from Baboom made me feel like running and playing. I found this gorgeous garden and romped in it, letting my hair down, so to speak, and played. All the warmth imbued by these creators flows through me each time I’m blessed with the opportunity to put on their designs.» View author and full post…
Hinako, Rivendell, pulcino, chocolat and Kre-ations in PMVH
Sometimes I think you can tell by just looking at a photo that the person in it is having fun. When I took these two photos of the ensemble I created using a variety of the PMVH items, I had a blast.
The cute pink hair comes from Hinako. You’ll see a great set of painted nails in the foreground as well, submitted from pulcino for the hunt. A heart necklace hangs round my throat a treat from Rivendell. The sweater, Lia from chocolat, looked like it was drawn to fit the setting, with the red trees in the background and the sled over to the left. And the tail that hooks around and holds a little lantern topped off this crazy fun look! Hunts always mean you get to taste a little something from the world of fashion around the grid, and expose you to new designers and fun. I took one other photo, and am sharing it, because I’ve been playing with the artistry of the game and in my paint program.

Liv-Glam and [VCB] Plus PMVH Items from Rivendell and Baubles
With the arrival of 2013, it’s time for me to take new risks, step outside the box so to speak, and play with camera angles, settings in world regarding light and shadow, and go beyond just taking a photo. I know this, like any other step, will take time to perfect and in the process, sometimes it will look amazing while other times I will shake my head and grimace.
Inundated with all the holidays and family and things distracting, it’d been a while since I really sifted through the amazing designs that pour out of Liv-Glam. I truly adore the designer and tease her about the story of the shoemaker and the elves, and ask her from time to time where she hides her elves.
I LOVED this new dress. It’s a favorite, a nod to Asian style, and the beauty of texturing. It’s rare for me to want to take so many different photos, but this comes from the fun of the moment, a step beyond the responsibility to the blog. Playing with lighting is one way I have evolved my photography, shooting pictures with all sorts of lighting, night and day. When I added Face Paint’s new Sophisticate’s “Poison” (preview for the full release coming soon), it looked stunning.» View author and full post…
Dot-Be Fashion, Shiki, Luminesse, ~Shadow Moon~ and {Co*Motion} PMVH
EvaAlmighty strikes again, this time with a super Valentine hunt. From time to time, I will be sharing items from various designers that are part of the hunt. I try to remember to paste the logo for an event on each photo to help differentiate between events.
I have the joy of working with Dot-Be Fashion and love BonieFacio’s casual comfort style. I pulled on a pair of jeans from one of his new releases this month, “GianCarlo” to go with the heart hoodie he submitted for PMVH.
One of the things I like best about Shiki is how they treat their group members. I’ve been to this store several times and found myself lost in the vastness of this designer’s creative mind. The floral outfit seen here includes the dress and unique applique of flowers across the chest. Beyond searching for hunt items, I encourage you to visit Shiki. If their style suits your aesthetic, you will find a thousand ideas to try and enjoy.
The outfit comes from ~Shadow Moon~, complete from head to toe. And keeping with the Valentine theme, hearts appear several times in the cardigan, and warm reds remind me of a pulsing heartbeat that quickens when true love appears.» View author and full post…
It All Began… Somewhere
How do ideas take root in our thoughts and propel us in new directions, letting us embrace new challenges and enjoy life in new perspectives? I think those moments, those beams of light shone into our world, come with the randomness of the cosmos and with the intensity of life itself. I began modeling by accident. I found a designer I enjoyed, and bought some of her things, then a few more, and ended up working for her for right at 6 months. That was 2011. Now I’m here, and it’s 2013, and I continue to find myself passionately enjoying this journey. I have worked with Face Paint since a contest run in March or April of 2012. To this day, every photo in my blog shows the make-up and other items one might purchase from Face Paint, yet I realize that there are few blogs that showcase ONLY Face Paint.
Needless to say, I adore this designer. And the more I’ve worked with her, the more admiration I have for her as a business person in Second Life, as a content creator, and as a friend who’s done so much to encourage me as I continue to step carefully through the jungle that is the fashion world of Second Life.» View author and full post…
