The challenge was to identify a specific animal then style an outfit that reminded the viewer of the animal in a way that was abstract. I was encouraged not to make use of animal skins (which are hugely popular right now so the temptation was incredible!!
The first time I created the look for this challenge, I went in a completely different direction. In so many ways, I needed to redo the challenge and in that editing process, I had the most fun discovering new designers and utilizing pieces from my past.
I found this imaginative dress by sYs. I’ve never owned anything created by them and I loved thee texture and the flitting bit of fantasy that the skirt imbued. I built the rest of the look around the skirt, and came up with this composition. I’ve had a number of people ask me, “Where did you get that dress?” It’s not a dress. The first in store modeling job I took was modeling for Carrie’s Lingerie. The top comes from Carrie’s Sins Collection. It was a nod to the past, acknowledgement that every dream takes time, but eventually if you determine to make it, that dream WILL take flight.
I thrive in creative moments, with people of interest, people of intelligence and people driven by similar passions. I’ve explored all sorts of ways to invest time and energy into Second Life based on this.
Recently, Liv-Glam added a new designer and the K-Collection came into existence. Liv-Glam is a very good example of all those things that make me feel alive and vibrant and excited because the energy generated there is amazing.
We’re all artists of a sort in Second Life. From the newly arrived who work to stretch the sliders and create their first avi to the newest building learning tips and tricks on how to get buildings of all sorts to look great.
One way I display my own personal sense of art comes in each styling of clothing. I search for clothing that suits my aesthetic and then work to make the clothing look best with the right accessories. Another way I display my sense of art shines here with every word I type. I continue to be a passionate writer. Blogging, styling, writing, modeling, designing… these are just some of the ways we express ourselves artistically. When I put on the Hope Jumpsuit from the K-Collection, it immediately felt like ME.» View author and full post…
I’ve had the joy of working with Violet Crush Bravin in several settings and admire the amount of work she accomplishes on any given day. Wow! One of her tricks up her sleeve is to create and create and create some more… new clothing that includes system style, sculpts, flexi and mesh for great combinations. As this is the end of the month of January, this is the last of the January items I will post. I had to choose one that was fun and different from what I’d tried other times this month and this outfit is cool.
A black long sleeve lace top keeps the arms warm over a sweetheart neckline mini dress. Flexi flairs around the waist and lace poufs just right below the first dark blue layer of the skirt tying together the look.
I paired this with new releases from Chop Zuey, pieces used by those awe inspiring MVW finale candidates. The Eilifu Black Set decorated my throat, nestled very close as a choker, earring match and a bracelet completes the set. After seeing all the work those women put into the contest, it’s special to own a little piece of history linked to that momentous event.» View author and full post…
A number of designers I work with have been zealously preparing for the opening of Zenshi South this weekend. Liv-Glam has opened their satellite store with a number of new releases. For all designers at Zenshi South, the items found there are ONLY found there, and cannot be purchased elsewhere on the grid.
The Fressange dress has a jacket that can match the dress or be a different HUD choice, so mixing and matching are an option as well as wearing the dress without the jacket at all…
Without the jacket, I could add the matching necklace in the Alicia Set. The creator of Artistry by ~E~, Endra Graves, has been working with me closely, giving me a new point of view on what jewelry and clothing types go well together. She’s also retextured some items along the way.

This week, I had the privilege of playing with furs in many colors. First I tried creating a field of furs with hope of showcasing the diverse colors, but that didn’t quite work as well as I wanted, and my overall goal any time I work with a designer’s art is to make their creations look as amazing as possible and the star of the photograph.
When I went to a more traditional way of showing you the fur, I knew it was the better way to show you how amazing these furs really are. If you’re more bold than I am, you might choose to wear the different furs without a slinky bit of lace under it. It does cover properly, even for a PG sim without the lace. The straps look like a shiny leather, and add just the right touch of color and pizzazz to make the furs ‘pop.’ As you can tell by the extensive list of colors below, there is a little something there for everyone. I loved the Noir/Red with the bright red skinny jeans but the combinations are endless and gorgeous. It feels positively decadent to be wrapped in such soft beauty.

This week has been a week to catch up with the designers at Liv-Glam and put up many styling options of the releases. If you haven’t been to Liv-Glam to see the 30% discount on EVERYTHING, it’s a deal of the year, and will end today at midnight.
This past week, many new looks were released and here’s a sampling of the mix…
The Charlize showcases a number of layers that all work together to give you a perfect cold weather look…
Monique is another outfit suited well to the cold environment. It had a very similar shirt and lace layer as the Charlize outfit above, so I styled a bit differently with this simple salmon top…
Cherish BodyCon offers the seductive lines of a lovely evening gown that’s cut to tease the eye with more than a wink of skin…
The Maiolaine offers the class of linen with a ruffled bolero, for an elegant date and cocktails or anything else that comes about when your special someone sees you wearing this…
Liv-Glam’s Maxime BodyCon Dress offers another sparkly textured cocktail. The lines are slimming and with thigh high boots, the chill of winter might be held at bay while you kick up your heels…» View author and full post…
Though I’ve been playfully tongue in cheek with the End of the World Fair, I put together several photographs that contain a more serious focus, as the outfits have been crafted for fun, comfort and beauty and do not seem particularly theme in orientation.
Everything worn in the outfit on the far left comes from the same designer in an all encompassing look from Nya’s. I added the cosmetics, nails and hair, and the rest is their design. Boots with warm cozy fur around the calf, thick winter leggins to tuck into the boots and wear under the ruffled short skirt. My favorite part of this look is the layered top/jacket/scarf. It fits the season perfectly and is stylishly done.
The second look comes from Image Factory, the sweater/dress as well as the jewelry accompanying it. There are several color options for the sweater, and I really appreciated the woolen looking texture created for the dress. The one drawback for me was the cut of the neck revealed part of both nipples with the Glam Affair skin I use. I could swap out skins so it didn’t show, but it’s something to be aware of when making this choice to purchase.» View author and full post…
Grab them while they’re hot. Liv-Glam has put together a whole array of sales and new releases. Here are two examples of what’s in the store now, just calling your name…
I really found structure to be the key ingredient in this newest design. The Voyage Couture dress makes me think of the amazing clothes it seems people buy before they holiday abroad, not that I’ve ever been so lucky but I do watch movies. I loved this dress. It’s such a non-verbal statement!
I’m a huge fan of Game of Thrones, a show on HBO. One of the key characters in the series is a woman who earns the title of Khaleesi. This hair style matches hers so closely. I was immediately in love with this particular style.
The jewelry here by Artistry by ~E~ is not a new release, but it is new to me, and when she released it, it was part of a campaign to raise awareness and finances for Brain Cancer. I wanted to post it as a ‘featured’ item because these charitable campaigns and needs associated with them never stop.
This dress also looks like it should be packed in my satchel for travel. It’s warm and sunny somewhere, and this dress has that spark that makes the world come alive in vivid colors.» View author and full post…
I’ve been playing around with glitter this holiday, just to see if I could come up with something that resembled body glitter seen in fancy celebrations off line. In the process, I was thinking, I really need the right dress to show this idea to the masses, and then I saw this weekend’s sale items from Liv-Glam.
Then I tried on several of the gowns that had similarly cut backs and so much revealed, and I knew it was perfect to display the glitter, and oh my gracious sexy. There are several versions of the Feminite Dress on the right and several versions of the dress on the left as well. The one shown in the picture, gold with black embellishment, has two options in gold or silver and is called the Kokorico. If you look around the store, you’ll also see several different colors and designs of another full length dress called Jador that looks very similar. Awesome texture, and a whole lot of silky soft skin shows.

You find the generous heart of many this time of year on line and in your world off line. It’s a time for sharing. For me, I’d rather have the most amazing relationships and no material objects. I’m blessed to have those relationships and hopefully I convey that emotion in word and photo in my blogs.
Up close and personal, you can see the wide dramatic eyes with a soft grey and brown puff of shadow and those lips, so kissable and sweet. They look like candy meant to be plundered.
Ah… brilliance. I wear Emotions dark brown 95% of the time. However, special times call for special deviations from my norm. The release that came out today from Emotions, Christmas Angel (and a special gift for men only as well) celebrates the season.
Glamour will be free one of the 12 Days of Face Paint’s Christmas and Emotions Christmas Angel is available today through Christmas, also free.
