Introducing GOL the 9th
Hi all!
So yesterday I saw a blogger opportunity to get a sneak preview of the new GOL, if you are not familiar with GOL it’s a long running house/techno club in Second Life. When they change the build they change the number hence the 9th for the 9th build. The grand opening will be this Friday May 24th!
I’ve hung out at GOL more than a few times in the past year so of course I had to see what changes were made. I have to say overall the build has a upscale feel than the last. As far as the layout it is about the same, entrance into a hallway then you choose left or right to hit the dance floor, but now there is this cute column sort of deal with a sign on it saying the 9th GOL. Also if you were familiar with the last build they did away with the rails and the platform they had when you first enter, I have to say I like it better. Also the roof is still open which makes for a cool atmospheric sky light and there are now photos of different parts of avie’s (shoes, hands face etc) on the walls for decor which was a nice touch I have to say.» View author and full post…

I sometimes know what I’m going to write about when it comes to blog posts – other times I do not. I had in my mind when I first started doing this picture that I would write about Second Life Real Estate and all it’s glory, then realized that I didn’t want to bore you all to death with silly things such as rentals, owning, getting commercial Mainland or going private. Cause really – that’s not what I do, although having owned a private sim, a homestead, renting on Mainland, renting on RP sims, and currently renting on a private sim – I think I’ve pretty much hit the mark on how it goes about getting space.
But honestly, who wants to listen to that? Sims are expensive commodities. Yes, they cost about $300USD a month. That’s a car payment, a school loan payment. That’s RENT in some places here in the US. $300USD is a lot especially for most people that bring home less than that a week. So, when I hear that people are going to lose their sim because they “can’t afford” it, and it’s so unfair – I shrug my shoulders and move on.
